Planting Mangrove
Nearly three-quarters of the mangrove forests along the coast of the Philippines have disappeared. Mangrove forests that grow in tidal areas are important as spawning and nursing grounds for aquatic animals, and the decline of mangrove forests is said to be one of the causes of the decline of coastal fishing. Many of the residents of mangrove sites are fishermen, and they hope for the regeneration of mangroves that form a healthy ecosystem. Furthermore, from the perspective of national land conservation, the government sees the regeneration of mangrove forests as an urgent issue.
Afforestation site seen from space
The planted mangrove forest can be seen from space. This photo is thought to have been taken around 2018 above Brgy Bocana. Not only can you see the mangrove forest, but you can also see the bamboo bridge and cottage in the center of the plantation site. To date, 145,000 trees have been planted, and 3.36 hectares of forest have been regenerated.
